Horizon Health is seeking a full-time Revenue Cycle Director. The Revenue Cycle Director provides strategic and operational leadership over Horizon Health’s full revenue cycle across medical, dental, and behavioral health services. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely reimbursement while optimizing revenue performance in alignment with Horizon’s mission as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The Revenue Cycle Director oversees all functions from charge capture and coding through billing, collections, denials management, and payer relations. This position works directly under the Chief Financial Officer and partners closely with finance, clinical leadership, operations, and compliance to ensure sustainable financial performance while supporting access to care for rural and underserved communities. Successful candidates for the Revenue Cycle Director should be passionate about providing high-quality, patient centered care.  *This position is open only to candidates residing in South Dakota or a neighboring state. While a telework arrangement may be considered, regular travel within South Dakota will be required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute revenue cycle strategies that improve cash flow, reduce risk, and support Horizon’s long-term financial sustainability.
  • Maintain deep expertise in FQHC-specific reimbursement methodologies, including PPS, wrap payments, Medicaid/Medicare billing, sliding fee scale requirements, and third-party payer rules.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability for revenue cycle staff and leaders.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Progressive experience in healthcare revenue cycle management. 
  • Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience overseeing revenue cycle operations across medical, dental, and behavioral health service lines strongly preferred.
